This post will probably really epitomize the title of this blog. I’m sitting on the couch with my new work laptop (a Dell Latitude D820 with lots of power) watching the Braves play the Reds and pretty much being bored.
Collin had another baseball game today, and they played pretty well again. They played a team that had only lost 2 or 3 games all year, and we actually got to play 5 full innings – we didn’t get blown out by them. We made some good plays in the field, and we hit the ball pretty well. The only thing that Scott and I needed to remind the kids was to run hard PAST first base. There were about 2 or 3 outs we had that we would have been safe if the runner had not slowed down to try to stop on first base. They’ll get it eventually…
In other news, we had a blast at the Evening with Colin and Brad show in Wabash. They were absolutely hilarious. Even Renee was laughing pretty hard. I was almost in tears during the game where two audience members move them around. It was good. Brad Sherwood also had to guess his crime: he was wearing rainbow toe socks, mesh underwear, burlap chaps with itching powder in them while stealing a cow-tippers Lucky Charms and driving lemmings to suicide in Churubusco with a merry-go-round and [I can't remember the last item he had...]. If you like improv humor (or any humor) at all, I would recommend seeing this show if it’s near you.
My hand is feeling much better, although there is a bump there that will probably never go away. It doesn’t hurt anymore, though, and I think I’m actually going to try to play softball this Saturday (probably NOT second base, though).
Grandma Lehrian is coming up to visit the last week in July, although I think we’re not going to have a sectional couch with a hide-a-bed in time for her visit. We’ll let her sleep in our bed, and Renee and I will be couching it, I guess. The furniture stores just don’t stock the sleeper sofas with the sectionals and it takes 6-8 weeks to have on delivered if you order it. We’ll still order one, though – just won’t have it in time for grandma’s visit.
We’re also looking for a minivan. I like the Chrysler Town & Countrys, because they have the stow-n-go seating, but I guess I could be talked into another minivan. We will be trading in the Jeep, and I guess I would be driving the old person’s Buick.
Out of curiosity, I weighed myself this morning, and weighed the same exact weight (185.5) that I finished the Biggest Loser contest at, so I’m glad I’m maintaining the weight I’m at. All that even while we visited the Dairy Treat in Edon, OH 3 times over the weekend while we were at Grandma & Grandpa Johnson’s farm.
It’s still light outside, and it’s almost 9:30. Crazy Daylight Saving Time.
The Braves are beating the Reds, and my Pirates are losing (for the 18th time in the last 21 games) and the Devil Rays look like they might not sweep the Red Sox (they’re down 6-4 in the bottom of the 7th, but hey, 3 out of 4 ain’t bad). So, I guess I’ll end my rants and relax a little before I go to bed.
