The longer my hand continues to remain stiff and swollen, the more I believe that the hand is broken and not bruised. It will probably just take a while for it to heal, so I'm trying to take it easy with the left hand for a while. I'm actually learning how to type with only [...]

We visited with Grandma & Grandpa Johnson at the farm this weekend. It felt more like July or August than May, with the temps easily hitting 90 degrees. We (the guys) camped out in a tent behind the barn one night, but didn't get much sleep as the dogs were barking all night, and it [...]

I weighed in this morning after the holiday weekend, not sure if the weekend had been kind to me or not. But, I weighed in at 191.5 lbs., another 2.5 lbs. lighter than last week. Only 1.5 lbs. to go to reach my initial goal of 190! Maybe this is the week…

Collin's team had another game last night. We played one of the better teams in the league (they came into the game 3-0 and had blown out every other team they played). We scored 4 runs in the first inning and 3 more in the second, and actually had a 7-0 lead at that point. [...]

We finally got to play our first softball game of the season last Saturday. Well, the rest of the team played the whole doubleheader — I only got to play 4 innings of the first game because I hurt my hand trying to make a play at second base.
I've been playing 2nd base since last [...]

Collin spelled "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" correctly last week as a bonus at school. His teacher gave him a certificate and he got his picture taken with about 9 other kids in his class who spelled it correctly. He was excited to finally get it right (they had 3 chances; he got it on the 3rd one).

Today is the 17th, meaning Ian is now 7 months old. He went in for a check-up and some shots yesterday. He weighed 16 lbs., 15 oz. His doctor thinks he's going to be skinny just like Collin, though. He weighs just a little more than Collin did, but he's also about an inch longer. [...]

I was supposed to play a softball game today; this one was the make-up game for the game that got rained out last Wednesday. And, just like last Wednesday, it started raining about 30 min. before the game was supposed to start. It was sunny and warm all day today until about 5:30. How lame.
Collin [...]

I got my first Nebraska State Quarter in some change this week. I've got almost all of the state quarters and mint marks to date with a few exceptions. Also, the 2006 nickels have yet a different obverse design – still Thomas Jefferson, but a different design. That means that 2005 has the only year [...]

I weighed in this morning for our office's Biggest Loser contest. I tipped the scales at 196 lbs. I started the contest at 210 lbs., so I've lost almost 7% of myself in the last 8 weeks! I'm well on my way to my initial goal of 190 lbs. I feel much better, and my [...]
